PTSD: On and off the battlefied, the fight continues
Mr. Scott Palomino, 301st Fighter Wing Airman and Family Readiness Center director, is a survivor of a deadly mortar attack at Balad Air Base, Iraq, April 10, 2004, that took the life of Airman First Class Antoine J. 104th Fighter Wing Opens Renovated Hangar
The 104th Fighter Wing welcomed special guests to the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate their renovated hangar opening. Governor Charlie Baker, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Congressman Richard Neal, Maj. General Gary W. Keefe, Mayor Brian Sullivan, Senator Donald Hummason, Representative John C. Velis were all in attendance for the much anticipated formal reopening.

The 104th Fighter Wing executed a Phase I and Phase II operational readiness exercise, Sept. 9, 2017 through Sept. 10, 2017, and Oct. 14, 2017, through Oct. 15, 2017. Col. Tom Bladen, 104th Fighter Wing operations group commander, visits refugee students at Highland Elementary School in Westfield, Massachusetts, June 26, 2017. The visit served as a means to help the children understand why they hear the loud screeching F15 jets flying overhead when playing outside and to help them understand the 104th Fighter Wing flies to protect. Col. Tom Bladen, 104th Fighter Wing operations group commander, visits refugee students at Highland Elementary School in Westfield, Massachusetts, June 26, 2017. The students received a 104th Fighter Wing patch and raised the patch up high while taking a photo with Col. Bladen after hearing about the 104th Fighter Wing mission to protect and serve. The visit served as a means to help the children understand why they hear the loud screeching F15 jets flying overhead when playing outside and to help them understand the 104th Fighter Wing flies to protect. Bladen speaks to the students about the F-15 Eagle and explains to the refugee students on how the pilots practice a lot just as soccer players practice. 104th Fighter Wing Change of Command
Col. James M. Suhr assumed command of the 104th Fighter Wing during a change of command ceremony held at Barnes Air National Guard Base, March 5, 2017. Governor Charlie Baker personally administered the oath of office officially swearing-in Col. Suhr to the Massachusetts National Guard prior to the Change of Command Ceremony. Col. Suhr is the first active duty commander for the 104th Fighter Wing. He is a dual status commander as both an active duty and Massachusetts National Guard officer as a part of an initiative known as Total Force Integration. (U.S. Air National Guard Photo by Tech. Sgt.
