  • 104FW Avionics Test Station technician, DoD civilian supports National Guard Capitol Response Mission

    Since January, the Massachusetts Army and Air National Guard have partnered with other National Guard units from across the country to provide ongoing security, communication, medical, evacuation, logistical and safety support to United States Capitol civil authorities. Out on this operation is Massachusetts Air National Guardsman Senior Airman Dorian Ayala, who has been on mission since mid-April as an immediate response force member.

  • 104th Fighter Wing recognizes 2020 annual award winners

    The 104th Fighter Wing recognized its annual award winners at an awards ceremony, held February 7, 2021, at Barnes Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts. The 2020 104 FW Annual award winners are: Senior Airman Sara Kolinski, Airman of the year; Tech. Sgt. Jaymie White, Non-Commissioned Officer of the year; Master Sgt. Chris Torres, Senior NCO of the year; Master Sgt. Michael Hoar, First Sgt. of the year; Capt. Colin MacEachern, Company-Grade Officer of the year; Major Christopher Ruscio, Field-Grade Officer of the year; and Mr. Patrick LaFond, civilian of the year.
  • 104th Fighter Wing Flagship F-15 receives symbolic graphics

    After about six-months of designing and planning, the 104th Fighter Wing’s flagship F-15C Eagle, tail number 125, received new nose art graphics in late December. The roughly six-foot by four-foot nose art graphic, featured on both sides of the F-15, appears to display the American flag, but upon closer look, displays the hundreds of names of members in the 104th Fighter Wing.

    Chaplain Kenneth DeVoie was deployed as a one-man team for 327 days to SOCKOR and stood up the first-ever Command Chaplain’s office from the ground up while providing spiritual and moral support for 120 Command Staff personnel in Garrison. The Chaplain was also responsible for the spiritual care of additional U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) - (Army Green Berets, Naval SEALs, Boat Teams, & EOD, Marine Corps SOF, and Air Force SOF)

  • 104th Fighter Wing Reaches Out to Refugee Students

    WESTFIELD, Mass. – On the last day of school with the air full of excitement for summer Col. Tom Bladen, 104th Fighter Wing operations group commander, entered the art-filled halls at Highland Elementary School on his way to visit 8-12-year-old students. The visit was to engage with refugee students who have been in Massachusetts for three months to three years.
