110213 - Barnes Earns Check for Energy Efficiency Achievements Published Nov. 2, 2013 Barnes Air National Guard Base, 104th Fighter Wing - Westfield, Mass.)- -- Westfield Gas & Electric of Westfield presented a check in the amount $19,857.00 to the 104th Fighter Wing on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Barnes at 11:00 a.m. based on the wings involvement in the Westfield Gas & Electric's Retrofit Program. Sean Fitzgerald, Energy Specialist and Customer Account Representative from Westfield Gas & Electric, stated, "The more energy that the base saves, the more the City of Westfield saves". He went on to say, "This is a great partnership between the base and the Westfield community". The unit is participating in the Westfield Gas & Electric's Retrofit Program, completing the first review of the proposed insulation and lighting retrofit projects achieving a savings of $19,857.00. "The base will continue to upgrade its electrical utilities in an effort to reduce energy consumption by 30% by the year 2015", stated Colonel James Keefe, the 104th Fighter Wing Commander. "The Westfield G & E is truly an exceptional partner and we look forward to their continued support for many more years to come."
