As part of the Employers Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) program, about 50 employers will attend a tour of Barnes Air National Guard Base on Friday, August 22 at 8:30 a.m.

During the three hour tour, commencing at 0800, employers of Guard and Reserve members will get a first-hand view of the 104th Fighter Wing and co-located 226th Army Aviation Support Battalion.

Scheduled events include a base tour, weapons and life support demonstrations, capabilities briefing, F-15 walk around and a ride in an Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter and conclude with a lunch at 12:30 p.m.

"This ESGR tour is an opportunity for employers to learn more about what we do...and how they can best support their employees in their jobs as citizen airmen and soldiers. It also gives us an opportunity to express our gratitude for their support of our mission," said Col. Robert Brooks, imminent Commander of the 104th Fighter Wing. "Our success is dependent on the support of our employers, families and communities."

Employers attending the event will represent the following companies: Coca Cola Bottling Company, Bay State Health, Hallmark Health Systems Inc, Concordant Inc. and Fire Departments and Police Departments from around Western Mass.

About half of the attendees have employees assigned to the 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes Air National Guard Base. The remainder of the employees are assigned to the 226th Army Aviation Support Battalion or 439th Airlift at Westover Air Reserve Base.
