104th Fighter Wing represented at Rhode Island Air Show

 

BARNES AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, WESTFIELD, Mass.Two F-15 Eagle fighter jets, pilots and aircrew from the 104th Fighter Wing are scheduled to set up a static display during the 2017 Air Show at the Quonset State Airport in Providence, Rhode Island from May 19, 2017 through May 22, 2017.

 

Lt. Col. Jared “Chowdah” Conaboy is a native of Rhode Island and will be the flight lead for the two ships supporting the airshow.

 

“It is an honor to fly over my home town and demonstrate some of the F-15s capabilities,” said Conaboy.

 

The Rhode Island National Guard Open House Air Show will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday.  The gate will open at 9 a.m. with flying slated to start at 10 a.m. and wrap up by 4:30 p.m.  Throughout the day the 104th FW Pilots and crew will be available to answer questions next to their F-15s.  More information can be found at www.rhodeislandairshow.com and on Facebook.

The 104th Fighter Wing is equipped with the F-15 Eagle. One mission of the 104th is Aerospace Control Alert (ACA), providing armed fighters ready to scramble in a moment's notice to protect the Northeast from any airborne threat. The unit is responsible for protecting a quarter of the nation's population and over one third of the Gross Domestic Product.
