F-100 Rededication Ceremony

Members of the 104th Fighter Wing, Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield, Mass. and distinguished guests gather May 4, 2013 to honor fallen guardsmen at the annual F-100 re-dedication memorial ceremony. The F-100 memorial, originally dedicated by the 104th Fighter Wing’s Chief Council in 1987, honors the 12 fallen guardsmen who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. During the ceremony, 104th Fighter Wing Commander, Col. James Keefe said, “Every day we drive past this monument, which serves as a reminder that the defense of our nation can come with a price, and that many have fallen to preserve the freedoms we enjoy. This unit has a proud history of service, and today, we embody that legacy.” (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt. Melanie J. Casineau/released)
