Today marks the U.S. Air Force’s 74th birthday, a day to celebrate the establishment of the Air Force as a separate service.  We pause and remember the many ground-breaking visionaries who advocated for an independent Air Force and reflect on the many pioneers who continued their legacy in the decades that followed to enable our Air Force to deliver unmatched war-winning capabilities to our combatant commanders.

Since its inception, the men and women of the Air Force have served our nation with exceptional honor and dedication.

They have embraced a culture of innovation to break technological barriers which have allowed the Air Force to fly, fight, and win in the air, space, and cyber domains.  For nearly a decade, the remarkable Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, and Civilian Airmen of AFLCMC have embodied the Air Force’s Core Values and have delivered truly innovative capabilities to build and sustain an increasingly lethal force – and I couldn’t be more proud of our workforce.

Thank you and your families for your service and sacrifice.  I look forward to working with you as we continue to strive to accelerate change to meet the warfighting demands of tomorrow.

Happy 74th birthday United States Air Force!
