Mass. Army National Guard’s (Aviation) Detachment 1, Charlie Company to Deploy Overseas
HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Massachusetts National Guard will hold a sendoff ceremony for approximately 21 Soldiers from Detachment 1, Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 126th Aviation Regiment, Massachusetts Army National Guard at the Army Aviation Support Facility #2, Westfield, Mass., Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017.
The Soldiers of Detachment 1, Charlie Company, located in Westfield, Mass. will deploy for approximately 12 months in support of Operation Inherent Resolve providing Air Medical Evacuation to our fighting forces.
This is the fourth yearlong overseas deployment for the detachment since 9/11. The unit previously deployed to Iraq in 2006 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Kuwait in 2010 in support of Operation New Dawn and 2016 in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
