Chief Master Sgt. Maryanne Walts

Chief Master Sergeant Maryanne Walts is the Command Chief of 104th Fighter Wing. She represents the highest level of enlisted leadership within her wing. Chief Walts is responsible for all matters influencing the health, professional development, military readiness, morale and welfare of assigned enlisted personnel and their families.
Chief Walts entered the Air Force in 1981, and served as an Inventory Management Specialist. During her almost four years on active duty, her extensive background included providing materiel management expertise to combat support or enabler organizations while directing activities in developing, operating, implementing and analyzing manual and automated integrated logistics systems. In 1985, she entered the next phase of her career by transferring to the Massachusetts Air National Guard by means of the Palace Chase Program as a Supply Systems Analyst. Chief Walts was instrumental in providing item and monetary accounting, inventory and stock control, budget preparation, and was a Resource Advisor in addition to managing the input and support of automated data processing equipment and supply inventory control. In 2009, Chief Walts become the interim Force Support Superintendent. There she assisted with the merging of the Military Personnel Flight and the Services Flight. She transitioned back to the Logistics Squadron in 2010, as the Logistics Readiness Squadron Superintendent. Chief Walts was responsible for developing goals and objectives integrating organizational, supply, transportation and fuels. In addition, she was responsible for the direct development, quality coordination, and implementation of policy and procedures while meeting mission requirements. She was also the chief Quality Assurance Manager ensuring inventory, environmental and health, security and safety practices are adhered to according to legal and regulatory requirements. She assumed her current position in April 2014.
