Part-Time Careers

In the Air National Guard, we bring people from diverse backgrounds together to defend freedom and protect communities - local and globally

- 130 credits of tuition and fees will be waived at all Massachusetts state and community colleges at any level. This excludes only medical and law schools.

-Non prior service applicants can qualify for a 20,000 enlistment bonus.

-While going to college full time, members can use the Reserve G.I. Bill to earn $369 per month and may also may qualify for an $350 per month on top of that. This is a 36 month total benefit enjoyed at no cost to the member.

- While going to school, you only work a minimum of one weekend a month and two weeks a year.

- You will earn transferable college credits, while obtaining military and career training which makes you competitive in the civilian job market.

- The Air Guard offers you more than 180 varied career choices including healthcare, communications, avionics and electronics and explosive ordnance disposal.

UPDATE: UNDERGRADUATE PILOT TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR FY 19

The 104th Fighter Wing is currently accepting applications for Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) for FY19. This opportunity is open to commissioned officers, enlisted personnel and civilians who are eligible for a commission in the Massachusetts Air National Guard. Applications must be received not later than 15 March 2018. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for 6 May 2018. A personal appearance by the applicant is required; travel and per diem costs are at the applicant's expense.

Applicants should submit an application package consisting of the following: a cover letter, a current resume, certified raised-seal official transcripts reflecting the award of a bachelor’s degree (or higher), flight records or certifications, results of an FAA Class I physical or a recent military flight physical, passing Air Force Officer Qualification Test (AFOQT) scores, and TBAS results. Additionally, applicants who are already commissioned must include their last five OPRs.

The 104th Fighter Wing will host meet-and-greets for UPT applicants on Friday, 2 Mar 2018. RSVP required.

Officer Applications

The following information is to be used by personnel interested in applying for rated and non-rated officer positions at the 104th Fighter Wing (FW), Massachusetts Air National Guard (MA ANG). The 104th Fighter Wing is located at Barnes Air National Guard Base, in Westfield, Massachusetts. The 104th Fighter Wing flies the F-15 Eagle. Boards are held, as needed, to interview qualified applicants for these officer positions within the Wing. Applicants are encouraged to keep their packages up to date due to the possibility of officer selection boards being held on short-notice.
